hi there,
i have the following problem:
i have imported a 3d, a 2d and 1d field from a netcdf file. now i'd like
to manipulate the vertical positions of the 3d field which depend on the
values of the 2d field multiplied by the value in the 1d field. presumably
i have to somehow loop through slices of the 3d field, however if i use
slice i end up with only a 2d field. any suggestions are well appriciated.
other than that i must say that i am well impressed with opendx having
used avs before.
cheers
magi

I can't visualize exactly what you are attempting, but the basic trick is to use Slab with thickness 0 since that is like a Slice but retains the dimensionality of the Slabbed object. See the Contextual or HTML help on these 2 modules for all the details and differences.

If possible, come up with a clever scheme that avoids iteration: it's much slower than figuring out how to do this in a Compute since iteration is an interpreted operation while Compute's functionality is compiled.
