ah, I see, you did explain why you're doing it that way. Interesting idea; but I don't think dx is set up to support that description of positions. But you should be able to do what you want with the Lookup module; just don't call the positions component "positions" on Import (since "positions" has special meaning). Call it "positions_lookup" for example, then use Lookup to, well, lookup, the correct value from your longer list, then use Rename to give the "looked up" component the name "positions".
