As a follow-up, I finally got a chance to try 4.1.3 (the current binary download from Dave Thompson) on a new RH7.1 (2.4-2-2 kernel). I discovered the same problems occur with Band and Sample.

However, I've found that the Sample and Band modules core dump. This was not the case in any previous version on Linux or other operating systems. I don't recall any discussion about changing them. For Band all that is reported is "26192: signal 11 caught", while for Sample, "26309: signal 11 caught". Sample doesn't always core dump while Band seems to. As a workaround, I tried an older version (4.0.10) and both the exec and ui core dumped when started, although that version is working fine on another RH7.0 system. Any suggestions? I've not checked to see if the code has changed for either module. Thanks.
