The file is part of my old cartography package. There are some tools there
to project these and other data from cylindrical equidistant to a sphere
and 2d projections through warping
(http://www.research.ibm.com/dx/proceedings/cart/index.htm). The networks,
data and macros referenced by the tutorial there is at
http://www.research.ibm.com/dx/bonuspak/applications/cartography/

You can use Slab twice (once in each dimension) to subset the data from
global coverage.

Subject: [opendx-users] datafile ETOP60.dx

Hello all,

I have some questions concerning the datafile ETOP60.dx of the bonuspack.
Making an image you see the the topography of the whole world in a plan
presentation (that means not as a sphere) beginning at 0 deg longitude and
ending at 360 deg longitude. Does someone of you know how I can make a
plot,
that doesn't start at 0 deg but at an arbitrary value, maybe 100 deg
longitude?
How can I choose an arbitrary area of the world in order to zoom on it?
Is it possible to convert this plan presentation to a sphere?

Thanks

Michael
