DX'ers, I have a "multimaterial" mesh (a conforming mesh of a multimaterial domain) and I'm coloring the elements according to material by creating a field with an integer valued, connection dependent data component. This works fine with autocolor and color+colormap, but what I really want to do is to specify colors by name (X11 names, e.g.) for each material number; e.g. 1==blue, 2==skyblue, etc. I tried using convert as described in the documentation for the color module (providing rgb vectors), but color balked at the colormap (Invalid data: object deleted too often!). Can anyone give me a hint on how I can do what I'm after? I'd be happy to just to create a colormap data file, but I want to use strings and not rgb vectors.
