Since many people have asked for my MacOSX openDX binaries, I just
took the ones I am currently using, rolled a tarball, and posted
them. They work for me, which is all I can say for them. I have run
all the nets that I had previously used under LinuxPPC and Linux
Mandrake PPC, and they all seem to work.
The binary is on my Macintosh. Connect to
afp://mendenhall.fel.vanderbilt.edu as guest, look in directory marcus
for the tarball opendx.4.1.3.20020506.macosx.tar.gz.
To install, make sure you have a running fink XFree86 install (see
http://fink.sourceforge.net), become root,
cd /
tar xzf tarball_name.tar.gz
and then log back out of root. This will install /sw/dx/...
and /sw/bin/dx
which is the worker script. Then, start XDarwin, and type dx and see
what happens.
If this works, great. If not, let me know and I will try to figure
out what went wrong. My time is quite limited, and since my copy is
working, I do not guarantee extremely fast responses. I will try,
though, to help out.
I believe David Thompson (one of the leaders of the openDX project,
and a regular on the opendx mailing list, accessible at
http://www.vizsolutions.com/dxcd.html or
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ) will provide consulting services
for a fee which are probably well worth the time if you are in a
hurry and want a really well supported install.
