The X, Y, and Z are all arbitrary. Technically, there are no contour
lines, but it describes a 2D surface (i suppose that's redundant and
repetitive), which is relatively regular (in that once mapped onto this
twisted donut shape is actually rectalinear), and so if I plot all 121
points that correspond to one "column", I'll get meaningful
streamline-like patters (the other way, plotting 73, would give rings).
