Hi,
I'm having trouble installing the samples supplied with OpenDx, maybe someone can help?
I have installed dx successfully and its files are located in /usr/local/dx
I have unzipped the samples by following these instructions: Move your opendx*.tar.gz file into the /tmp directory, then use the following commands as a privileged user to install the software: cd /usr/local gzip -d -c /tmp/opendx*.tar.gz | tar xvf -
This produced several opendx-samples files in the /usr/local folder, namely: install, licence, readme, remove, ss & sw. Most files are a few hundred kb apart from the readme which is 0kb and the ss file which is 23mb.
As the readme is 0kb I can't read it!!!! So I went ahead and double clicked the .install file, Redhat [7.3] asked me if I wanted to display or run. Running the file results in no action!!!!!
Can anyone help, please?
Regards,
Matthew (a complete Linux newcomer - excluding the 4 builds need to get it to dual boot with xp!)
