The fonts for the User Interface are hard-coded as X resources. Since you compiled it yourself, you could look at the header files
src/uipp/dxuilib/*Res*.h. There you can get the font resources and
change them in your .Xdefaults file or even better, you could offer
to add the code that would allow a user to set these preferences.

Definitely a suggestion worth implementing---unfortunately, my coding skills
with X, and Motif in particular are non-existent. I think I once wrote a program which printed 'Hello, World!' in a window when I was in grad school 10 years ago. In addition, I do not have the time to learn X, Motif and OpenDX in sufficient detail to start offering bits and pieces of new and improved code.

Nevertheless, thank you for your answer, I'll have a look straight away.
