Do you have Fluent 5.x installed? If so, use that. A former coworker
discovered that would work around either the volume or surface export
problem (volume I think).
There were several problems with DX export involved IIRC, which I filed
with Fluent: Misnumbering of DX objects, duplicate field object/component
names, and in one case garbage data for the velocity vectors. I wrote
scripts to fix all but the latter and gave them to Fluent. IIRC, they
fixed at least two of these in a beta version I pulled and tested for them
(including the velocities). So see if you can get the latest release or
devel version, or try Fluent 5.x's export, and failing that, get the fixup
Python scripts I gave them. Brian Bell @ Fluent support comes to mind --
you might talk to him.

KENNETH L GAGE:
|Hi folks -
|
|I am having a problem exporting data from FLUENT6.0 and then importing it
|into OpenDX. I went through the archives and found a post re: this
|problem that said there was a script to repair the file, at least for
|surface data. If someone could send me that script I would be really
|grateful.
|
|I would like to be able to export the volumetric and surface velocity
|data together, but I definitely need the volumetric data. The earlier
|post says that the script repairs surface but not volumetric data - does
|that mean there is no way for the external user to repair the files
|containing volumetric data? I've put in a call to FLUENT, but if anyone
|has any other suggestions, I would like to hear them. Maybe someone else
|has run into this since the last post in the archives?
|
|Thanks for all your help -
|
