Wow. Glad that you found those old examples of mine useful...

Text glyphs are "pasted" in front as 2d objects. You should try Text,
which does 3d text as geometry (i.e., Construct->Sphere->Text). Given the
distorted coordinates, you will have to play with the scaling and
orientation options of Text.

This behavior should be the same with h/w or s/w rendering...

Subject: [opendx-users] text in autoglyph

Hi,

I'm trying to render a sphere with coordinates on it - I have found the
fiducials.net and sphere.net macros, and heavily adapated
SAI_CDAW9_EventC.net from the earth_space examples.

I would like to actually draw some coordinate balues on it - and have
almost succeeded doing this with construct->sphere->autoglyph, with "text"
as the glyph option. It works, however, the text does not obey the opaque
properties of the globe that is within my main globe, who's purpose in
life is to block out everything behind. So all the data dissapears behind
the black globe, but the text remains.

Is there a way of getting text to not display through something opaque? I
turned off accalarated rendering, just in case it was something funny to
do with my video card, but being a bit of a newbie, I probably missed
something obvious.

Thanks.
