It doesn't look like you have told dx to use much memory.  dx -memory n,
where n is the number of MB (memory+swap) will override the default, which
is usually 7/8 of physical memory.

It seems that your data is too big to be handled by (memory + swap
file). My guess is you should either add more memory or reduce the
number of data you handle at once.
