Hi Jerôme

I just started to work on a similar cluster project, the main goal of mine being to run FEMs that don't hit the 32bit resource limit. But I also hope to use DX on it. I know there is/used to be an SMP version of DX and there is a clustering tools called openmosix that may be good to implement. I'm hoping one/both of these will be useful for DX.

We should ask the real guru's this, but there might be a hardware issue concerning graphics cards since DX is, after all, a graphical tool. I'm not sure how clustering will help the graphics side of things......

As I say, I'm just starting on this, but found that the ROCKS http://www.rocksclusters.org/ distribution is very easy to set-up - like a couple of hours. Be warned though. the download is the slowest part of the whole procedure.

Hi,

I'm opendx user on mandrake and i have a project, far today, to construct a
cluster, with cheap PC architecture, like 2 or 3 dual processor + 1 server.

My aim is to make faster computing with FEM hydrodynamic solver and faster
rendering/computing with openDX.

Does anybody have experience with opendx on cluster ? Is (or will be) opendx
parallelized to work easy on a cluster ?

I will be very gratefull about advice, experience, architecture example
etc...
