What are the range and units of the coordinates? With typical ocean data,
depth will be very small compared to the horizontal extent. If that's the
case here, it would appear that you are only have a plane. Try Scale
([1,1,10.]) or something like that prior to Image.

Also, your simple program is doing direct volume rendering, which may or
may not be what you want.

Subject: [opendx-users] scalar data on 3D grid

Hi,

I'm trying to do something seemingly simple. I have scalar data such
as salinity, temperature, density etc... that has 3D positions on which
it was measured. When I do a simple Import->Autocolor->Image I get a nice
image, but it's a 2D plane. I've used a bunch of things that are suggested
in the tutorial to see this in 3D such as slab and slice, but nothing
looks correct.
I get a long streaky looking image. Does anyone have suggestions about
seeing
this in 3D?

thanks,
