Opacity output is the 3rd one on Colormap. You must connect this to Color's 3rd input for the adjustments you've made to be available to Color. Then it will do what you want.

Dear DX'ers,

I have a question regarding the opacity of a MapToPlane

I'm using a program based on what is generated by Import Data
grid file:

imported ---> MapToPlane ---> Color ---> Image
data | |
+--> ColorMap --+

I've set the ColorMap with constant hue and saturation and with
value and opacity high above a threshold and zero below that
threshold.

What I want is to display the colored part of the plane where the
imported data is above that threshold and to display nothing
where it is below threshold. What I'm getting is colors above
threshold and black below threshold.

Can anyone suggest a way to make the non-red part of the plane
entirely transparent? If not, is there another way to do what
I'm trying to do?

Mike
