Here you go. A little net creating two polylines in one field. There are
interactors creating positions, edges, polylines and data Arrays. Each
gets the necessary dependency and is Replaced onto a bogus Field object.
The edges component identify sequences of elements of the positions array;
here the positions are simply listed sequentially with the vertices of the
first polyline following the vertices of the second, so the edges is simply
0 .. npoints. The polylines component shows where each of the two
polylines begins in the sequences held in the edges component; here, 0 -
the first polyline begins with the first edge component element, which
indicates the first position. The second polyline begins with the 5th edge
component element. There are two data values dependent on polylines; using
Autocolor, one is colored red and the other blue. I added an Autoglyph of
the positions just to show where they are along the polylines. You can
Print(..., "dx ascii") (or whatever it is) to see how this looks in a .dx
file.

Thank you, Chris and Greg, for the answers!

I tried this:

> object "many_curves" class multigrid
> member 0 value "field_0001"
> member 1 value "field_0002"
> ....

and it worked!

| I'd suggest using a single field containing all the curves as
| polylines rather than a whole lot of fields. It'd be a lot less
| overhead.

I'll try this next, though it'll take some time to figure out
how to write a correct .dx file. (I read the part about polylines
in the User's Guide, chap.3, but I still don't know how to express
them in a .dx file.)

Thanks again,
Ryo
