Thanks Rob, that's exactly what I got. This is definitely not the right or desired behavior. I'll have to come up with a workaround (if possible) until this gets fixed.

I only have 4.3 for testing this. I'm using CVS on FreeBSD 4.8 with
OpenMotif. There's no error message. The Message Window says (does that help?):
