The easiest way is to use the 27 node element as a 2x2x2 block of 8 node linear element for visualization purposes. If you have the connectivity data for your 27 node iso-parametric brick you can derive from that 8 sub-bricks for each original element. This case is simplified by the nodes at the centroid volume and faces of the element.
