I just saw the bottom of the original question (no connections at all).
Slicing or MapToPlane will require connections...
But the notion of Slice'g does not apply to scattered data. So, Joel's
suggestion of filtering the positions by horizontal coordinates makes
sense.

Mark("positions")
|
| min-vector
| |
| | max-vector
| | |
Include
|
|
Unmark
min-vector and max-vector are the corner points of
the subvolume you wish to extract.
