Slice does what you are asking, but Streamline might be easier to make a quick image (granted, it assumes the 3 "D"s are components of the vector quantity under study, but it might make a cool picture anyway.

Hi,
I have a 3D field representing a 2D vector field, while the third
dimension is time.
I would like to visualize time trajectories for this field.
I try to used Streakline, which I think is the right module to do it,
but I encountered the following problem. A series of 2D fields is
required as input of the module, and I have a single 3D field.
I didn't manage to find the way to convert my 3D field to a 2D series.
Is there a module to do it ? (actually, it would just be the opposite of
stack). How can this be achieved ?
Thanks for your reply,
Vincent
