Many user interface characteristics can be set using the files in your home directory:

  .startup-ad ...... startup menu
  .dx-ad ...... network editor
  .gar-ad ...... data prompter
  .dxtutor-ad ...... tutorial

Each line in these files sets one parameter using the X Windows Resource (XRM) protocol. An example of each of these files is attached where the font and color are set to make it easier to read the text.

Two additional files are also attached:

startup-ad-all ...... all parameters set by the startup menu
dx-ad-all ...... all parameters set by the network editor

These are the X parameters set by DX for the corresponding processes. However, these lists don't tell the whole story for two reasons. First, not all parameters seem to be used. For example, in the "*fontlist" parameter, only the font for "bold" seems to make a difference. Second, many parameters that affect the widgets are not currently set by DX at all.

There is no guarantee that things will work well if you change parameters. However, the supplied examples of the *-ad files seem to work fine with 4.3.2 under Redhat Fedora.
