Thanks for your help, Peter. I was able to create a new environment variable called DXFONTS in Windows XP, but I still don't seem to have the new fonts installed. When I tried to run the URWsample that was downloaded with the new font files, I kept getting error messages about missing font files.
I think DX is still not looking at my new folder where DXFONTS is pointing at, but I don't know how to find out which folder it is looking at or how to change it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! The 'normal' one is:. Right click on My Computer, goto the <Advanced> tab and select EnvironmentVariables (this button is in different places depending which windows version you're using). If you do not want to reboot, create a new user variable (upper box). This will only work for the acount you do it under. Press New. Type DXFONTS in the variable name field Hit <tab>/click in the variable value field and type in the path to the fonts. Hit OK Then logout and in. If you reboot and are a member of the administrator group you can create a new variable in the lower (system) box using the same proceedure. The same proceedure applies for all the DX variables (see the docs for help). You can also set the variable using a command line option, but this way is a one time thing. I have the Viz, Inc. 4.3 Windows version of OpenDX. According to the instructions, I need to point the DXFONTS environment variable to the directory where the fonts are. I cannot find this variable, so I simply placed them in the fonts folder under C:\Program Files\OpenDX\ where I found other font files to be. This does not seem to work, though. How can I install them to a Windows machine? Sum Yee
