Thanks for the suggestion. It turns out that I didn't have a file to link to libXp.so.6. The problem appears to be Fedora's switch from Xfree86 to Xorg's implementation of X11. The solution was to install xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.1-12.i386.rpm, which is on Disk 2 of the Fedora C3 distribution and contains the missing file.
I'm surprised that this libXp.so.6 problem hasn't appeared here before. At least I couldn't find it when I searched the archives. My problem with libXm.so.3 was that OpenMotif wasn't installed. For some reason I could only install it by ignoring dependencies. Once I installed both RPMs, I was able to install and run OpenDX.
