Hi Anas, Sounds like we are in agreement mostly(I have my reservations around ubuntu/linux to be considered as a TCB but it depends on what security context are we looking). I wish I could have participated in the open mind event :( sadly I can't fly to Egypt on such a short notice. This would be another thing that can put in the backlog; events planned and then we schedule what is possible during the iteration, whatever the iteration is. I think we need a bit more than a mailing list, so maybe a website where we can have some materials, documentation, backlog and in progress items. Ideally we could try to have a planning day per iteration, and a retrospective.
There is an alternative approach, which is work load based: we enumerate all the things we want to do , and then we say per person we have a limit of X items in parallel. whoever has less than X items can pull items from the backlog till he reaches X then work on the items and then when they are done they are moved over to done. I have seen/used both methods, the later often referred to as Kanban is useful in interrupt driven items: there is no time limit and there is not a great dependency between the items. Either methods would work, but the point is that you listed for example several parallel efforts, including and event , a book printing, meetings, etc. which I had no idea were in progress. I could be blamed because I am the newcomer and maybe this information was available in the mailing list archive. My overall feeling is that mailing lists are not good medium to archive and organize information that are not Q/A or Problem/Solution type thing. If we have a domain for OpenEgypt that would help both internally to organize , and externally to communicate a crisp and clear message to the government, universities etc. I also had a question/idea about a physical space for open egypt, where we can maybe have a small library, a small lab, and an area for discussions and presentation. does such thing exist? I would be willing to support this effort within my means of course.
