Just a basic organizational suggestion: you can set up a Wiki and list stuff there, both companies and a ToDo list for the website. This is easy, straightforward and you can start communicating on needs, small initiatives and so on. This is how you engage the community ;) And such a doing is also along the lines with FLOSS ethics which is 'publish early, publish often' (ok, s/publish/release/ for the code... :) ).
In case of concerns such as Google indexes the info on the Wiki, this has a solution (at least with MediaWiki which I know the best): you can either limit write/read permissions by login, or activate the anti-bot option.
