Dear Colleague,

We think it would be interesting for you to know that the "4th Libre
Software Meeting 2003" will be held from July 9 to July 12, in Metz (east of
France, near Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg).

Therefore, I would like you to consider the possibility of participating in
the section for medicine. The aim of this conference is to present, explore
and evaluate the effects of the integration of the developing with the Libre
Software Health Care Systems (LSHCS) known also as Open Source Software
(OSS).

Encouraging high levels of academic rigour, the conference will offer
keynote and plenary sessions with internationally recognized scientists and
researchers in the theoretical and practical applications of offering
collaborative opportunities to computer scientists, researchers, doctors,
faculty, medical and hospital staff, experts in eHealth issues and others
from all fields of the LSHCS on the following general topics:

- Development strategies, models, and methodologies based on reusing LSHCS;
- Available repositories of potentially reusable software elements LSHCS;
- Searching and evaluation strategies;
- Success stories and failures;
- The maintenance and integration of evolution paths;
- Cooperation with the Open Source Software (OSS) community; and
- Challenges and benefits of interesting economic, business, and legal
aspects.

Your contribution must be suitable for a 15-20 minute presentation at a
plenary session including questions. Please include in your abstract name,
position and department, institution and contact information (phone, mail,

Registration is mandatory to attend this workshop. There is no participation
fee.
