Dear OpenEHR members,
The following session might be of interest to you in case you are attending
the HL7 San Antonio meeting.
Thanks,
Amnon.

San Antonio HL7 Working Group Meeting Attendees,

Another "Birds-of-a-Feather" session will be hatched at 7:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, May 4, 2004. Attendees will discuss national and international
EHR-S Implementation and Interoperability (BOFEHRii) efforts.

WHY:
Excellent functional and informational EHR-S models are the required
baseline, of course -- but where do we go from there? And how? In the long
run, isn't there also a need for sound socio-economic and medico-legal
models of how to implement EHR systems on national and international
levels? How can HL7 help?

WHO:
Anyone interested in the ethical and operational aspects of EHR-Systems
(beyond the single healthcare provider implementation).

WHERE:
(Check the Meeting Board and listen for announcements during the San
Antonio meeting.)

WHEN:
Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 7:30 p.m.

WHAT:
"Birds-of-a-Feather" is an informal gathering who listens, speaks,
brainstorms, share experiences, and learns from each other's HL7
participation. Oh, the pizza and root beer is a pretty big draw, too.

COMMITTED SPEAKERS (in the good sense of the word):
- Don Mon: Update on the EHR Collaborative's efforts.
- Helga Rippen: HHS/OS Deputy (on behalf of Bill Yasnoff, who cannot
attend).
- Linda Fischetti: V.A. -- on a topic of her interest.
- Charles Parisot: IHE Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing Integration
profile development and its contribution to the integration of the
longitudinal dimension of the EHR.
- Amnon Shabo: Comparative analysis of all national EHR-S implementation
models.
- John Ritter: Proposed Continuity-of-Care Record project.
- All previous speakers: Q & A and updates on their previous presentations.
(Note: please contact John if you have an update or can offer a short
demo.)
- Ed Hammond: On the quality of the pizza, probably.
- Gary Dickinson (if time permits): EHR-S "Next Steps". (Note: This could
be the most stimulating presentation of all -- in light of the EHR-S DSTU's
affirmation by voters.)

INVITED SPEAKERS:
- Gerald Freriks: National update (Netherlands, CEN).
- David Markwell: National update (UK).
- Sam Heard: Update on openEHR, Australian bush, UK.
- Jorge Ferrer: a topic of his choice.
- Tom Sullivan: Massachusetts Medical Society's efforts with AAFP, HIMMS,
and ASTM on CCR-stuff.

U 2:
There may be some limited agenda time to discuss additional topics. Please
contact John Ritter at SpeechPi at Libcom.com if you would like to formally
reserve a block of time.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting!

Best regards,
   John Ritter (Speech Products, Inc.)
Amnon Shabo (IBM Research Lab in Haifa).

After the meeting we will post the results on the forum for those who
couldn't attend (and also for those who attended and enjoyed a refreshing
nap).
