All, PeopleWare is a Belgian software development company active in Java programming. We are not specifically active in the Heathcare area although we have plans to do so in the future. For one of our customers we are currently developing a "Disease management" application in Java. As this application needs to fit in a bigger "system" we started looking for such a system a couple of months ago. At EUROREC 2004 there were presentations of Prof. Dipak Kalra and Rong Chen of Acode (Sweden). We got convinced of the approach and potential of OpenEHR and started investigating this in more detail. Our software could implement the OpenEHR architecture and we would (of course) prepare it for communication with an OpenEHR server. Today we still have a lot of questions concerning OpenEHR: We would like to find out how "big" this OpenEHR community is? Which support does it currently get from the industry? We would like to investigate which current Java implementations are ongoing, have been finished, are planned in the future ... Is there a platform to meet each other? Are people willing to share this information? Can we co?perate and to which extend? A lot of questions I would love to have answers on. :-))) Yesterday I received a message announcing an event at CEBIT (Hannover, Germany) in march of this year. Have a look at this website: http://www.futurematch.cebit.de I wondered whether people of the OpenEHR community planned to be present or visit CEBIT. Could we organise a meeting there to get to know each other and find out who is actually doing Java development in the OpenEHR environment? I would be happy to organise such a meeting if 4 or 5 companies /organisations would participate. As we are quite new in this business I apologise if I missed other opportunities or events that were similar to the one I am suggesting now. I also do apologise if this is not the right "list" to post this message. Kind regards, Dirk Couck - If you have any questions about using this list, please send a message to d.lloyd at openehr.org
