Patient Records (NSEP).

The Norwegian Centre of Electronic Patient Records is a centre of
expertise at NTNU that does research and knowledge promotion on topics
related to patient records systems. The Norwegian Research Council
(NFR) has budgeted five million kroner per year for five years to
strengthen and develop an interdisciplinary research group with
competence in health, ICT, and social science fields. The centre was
established in October 2003. About 20 PhD students work at the centre
that are supported and guided by scientific personnel from several
different institutes at NTNU. The centre is administratively located
within the Faculty of Medicine.

The main goal of the centre is to conduct research that can contribute
to the development and implementation of electronic patient record
systems that in turn can simplify the working day for health personnel.
Electronic health records is to be developed into a more functional

amongst health professionals, and serving as a source of information
for administrative routines, quality assurance, and research in health
services. The centre's research also aims to contribute to
strengthening patients' self-care and collaboration with health
services by improving their access to their own records.

The applicant will be part of an interdisciplinary team that works on
various projects concerning development and use of electronic health
record systems along with aims for the centre put forward by the board

in one or more parts of the discipline, particularly the specialist
fields this position has specific responsibility for. Weight will be
placed on the ability to supervise and initiate research and
development work.

pedagogical education/training, the presentation of academic work,
experience from supervising masters-level students and doctoral
candidates, and teaching as well as other pedagogical matters. The
evaluation will consider both the quality and the scope.
