Dear all, A new addition has been made to the openEHR reference model. It currently has the status of a proposal. It adds a single class whose purpose is to facilitate integration of CEN EN13606 Extracts, HL7v2 messages, and other legacy data sources. The document can be found under the 'proposals' heading at http://svn.openehr.org/specification/TRUNK/publishing/index.html.
A second document on methodology will be published in the near future showing in more detail how externally sourced data, particularly HL7v2 messages can be imported into and also exported from an openEHR system. The key elements of the approach are the new class type, GENERIC_ENTRY, and the use of 'legacy archetypes'. The latter are briefly explained at http://www.openehr.org/FAQs/t_archetypes_FAQ.htm#mozTocId539566. Comments welcome. - thomas beale -- ___________________________________________________________________________________ CTO Ocean Informatics (http://www.OceanInformatics.biz) Research Fellow, University College London (http://www.chime.ucl.ac.uk) Chair Architectural Review Board, openEHR (http://www.openEHR.org) - If you have any questions about using this list, please send a message to d.lloyd at openehr.org
