Bert,

What is the definition of 'closed system'?

When open=not-closed.

Is open source open?
Is a system based on a standard and its implementable specification
open, also?

Is an essential attribute of 'openness' that the software is open?
Or is an essential attribute of 'openness' that the data base is open?
