It is explained in the ADL 2 spec here:
http://openehr.org/releases/AM/latest/docs/ADL2/ADL2.html#_single_valued_attributes

And the ADL 1.4 spec here:

Subject: Is 'Choice' datatype available in Archetype editor an OpenEHR standard

Hi,
Archetype editor includes a datatype called "Choice'. This allows more than one
data type(text & coded text for example) for the same node. Is this OpenEHR
standard?
