Hi Filippo,

What an excellent contribution!

All,
We are launching a new initiative to create some really simple and
neat EJB3 examples similar to the excellent examples that Tomcat
ships that show people how to write Servlets and JSPs. With these
examples people will not only be able to use OpenEJB 3 very easily,
but moreover they will be one of the definitive places to learn
EJB3. Period.

Hi, I have recently published a book (in italian) which covers the basics of Java EE 5 and ejb3, so I would be happy to contribute with some examples... moreover, I have built for the same book a sample application (a minimal
wiki) which uses session stateless and entities.
The application is really simple (the presentation part is *minimal*, to say the least), but if you are interested, I could donate it (it needs just a
few refactorings and some bug fixings).

This is fantastic and we'd love to have you work on other examples too both in italian and english.

You don't even have to make it M2-enabled, if it's not yet. It'd be an
excellent piece of code to work on by others who are still unsure how
to contribute.

Just to be sure (I can't find a roadmap for openejb3 in the
website)... it's an ejb3 compliant application, so requires jpa and
full ejb3 support (at least for stateless beans). I don't think it can
run with the current snapshot of openejb since, afaik, it does not
support business interfaces (OPENEJB-90)

We do support business interfaces overall, i.e. you can have a bean with business interfaces and a client can look it up and invoke it just fine. There are just a couple methods in EJBContext/ SessionContext which we don't support.

Could you please create a package of the sample (jar, zip, tgz,
whatever) and rise an jira issue with the package as attachement?
While doing it, please select "Grant license to ASF for inclusion in
ASF works (as per the Apache Software License ยง5)" and remove any
license headers from the files. We'll get your name listed in NOTICE,
I believe, so you'll get a credit for the work.

Ok, give me just a couple of weeks... the application is mainly in
italian (class names, variable names, ..) so it need to be refactored
a bit..

We'd love to have documentation for the examples in italian as well as english. In fact we are i18n enabled so if you wanted to help translate some resource files into italian, that'd be excellent too!
