Hi Matt, I'd say it sounds very appealing configuring OpenEJB by means of database or any data stream. I don't know how much of the functionality is already in the code, but all of the XML files are managed by Castor. OpenEJB leverages Castor to map them to appropriate Java classes.
So, if Castor is able to retrieve configuration from a store other than an XML file, OpenEJB wouldn't even know where its configuration comes from as long as the classes are initialized properly. If I were writing the code, I'd start investigating what Castor is really able to achieve. I've been also wandering if OpenEJB would be configured via JNDI layer. Depending on a JNDI provider configuration would come from different places - files, database, LDAP, or stright from an application server as <env-var>s. -Jacek Matt Seaborn wrote: > The configuration of OpenEJB is via a properties object which as one of > its properties has the location of a file continaing the configuration > XML. > > Is there no means to supply the configuration XML by any other means? > > It doesn't strike me as particularly pluggable if the configuration > *has* to be stored locally as a file.
