I’ll be pushing this branch again soon, after filing a number of upstream bugs. 
 We absolutely cannot just switch meson to muon right now, but it will be 
enough to bootstrap some native pieces if meson’s python dependency becomes a 
problem.

(ie pkgconf prefers to be built with meson.build now)
