Looking at it, I believe appstream brings curl into the recipe sysroot,
which is a standard dependency for this recipe, and that's why it
doesn't fail to compile.
I think it would be nice to add curl explicitly to DEPENDS, but at the
end of the day I wouldn't block this patch because of this.
