Well, I am using a 32bit host as my build machine and am stil having issues ... Ubuntu 7.10. I regularly use the same host to build images for the gumstix (which is also based on the OE distribution)....
I enabled : BB_NUMBER_THREADS = "2" in local.conf ...can that create issues? Should I just nuke the "tmp" directory and try again? Wonder if that causes issues ... I just got past glibc with my build: NOTE: package glibc-2.6.1: completed So not sure offhand what is wrong. I'll try a build on my 64-bit machine when I have a few spare cycles.
