Hi:

My bitbake virtual/kernel opie-image for my Toshiba e740 (configured through referencing the machine's conf in my local.conf) fails due to a missing defconfig in the linux 2.6.21 directory...

Any suggestions what I may have missed in setting up the environment or where I could start to eventuall get a config file for the kernel in place?

If I'm not mistaken, the closest hardware in oe to Toshiba e740 is tosa (Sharp Zaurus SL-6000). You can use defconfig-tosa in linux-2.6.24 dir as a starting point. Then bitbake -c menuconfig to tweak the kernel configuration. If you are more into kernel stuff, you can take a look at the patches in linux-2.6.24/tosa.
