Review: Needs Information
I am not sure I understand what the fix does: I checked the related bug, tested your
Korea example (created customers in NK and SK, searched on just "country:
korea" in the Customers list) and I get the same behavior in both cases: all
customers in both countries are found and listed.
Would it be possible for you to clarify?
Hi Xavier,
thank you for the review.
You do indeed describe the target scenario. Did you apply a filter from
the "-- Filters --" dropdown to get this result, or were you able to
escape from the many2one selection popup in the combobox search field?
The first option is admittedly a workaround for the problem. The second
option is the target of this branch.
The modifications in this branch allow the user to press Esc when the
combobox offers its suggestions in the dropdown. The system then
searches for a substring allowing to retrieve results for both Koreas.
This improves usability for greater similarity to comboboxes in other
systems (e.g. Firefox' search box) and greater similarity to the GTK
client's behaviour to (optionally) search for substring.
If there is actually already a way in 6.0 to escape from the combobox
without this branch, please enlighten us.
Cheers,
Stefan.
