Hello,
For GTK client it is not working may be due to calling of function
(onchange_journal and onchange_company method on invoice set the
currency) but do not call get method of ir.values object.
But with web-client i can set the default_value for currency working fine here.
So bug seems in GTK Client.

Bug description:
even admin can not set and save the default currency (to EUR)
currency for every "new" invoice is empty.
