I know it is a little late, but it is quite clean and has been done by a core Python and Zope contributor maybe there is something of interest for you in it. An other point shouldn't we test relation between maxncron thread argument and max database connexion ? I'm a little afraid of the fact that the total number of running threads exceeds the max number of allowed connexion to database.
