I have had the same issue with default values not being in effect for
all users. I tried to set the default value of the "state" field in the
leads wizard to send a add a new internal note (crm_add_note) and
there's a field with label (Set new State to), that I want to default to
unchanged for all users. I am admin, but cannot manage to set the state.
It accepts but on the next note its back to the previous value.

Bug description:
I would like to change the default value of one field that I set previously.
I used the same way (right click on GTK Client , default value for all users)
than to set but it does not work for me (5.0.6 Windows version allinone, GTK
Client Windows or MacOS, user admin).
It is working when I select in default value, "only for me" but it is NOT
working when I set "for all users".
