Review: Disapprove this is not the right fix, the actual problem is with the workflow of purchase order, there was nothing to trigger workflow properly from invoice_except/picking_except state to cancel, so, the PO was looking like "Canceled" from state but the workflow stays to its original state, I have found and fixed that problem, see attached new branch of this bug,
