According to me its logically straight forward that if a person is a manager of any group he must be in Extended view, thus he will be able to see category field, And if the person is a manager and not in extended view he is not able to see Product Categories menu, So even if we don't have category field visible we will get default value from it from demo, so its not creating a problem,
