Thank you Olivier. @#2 I am learning 6.1 installation and I don't remember how it was running that time. After troubles to run 6.1 I have removed all previous installations. So I cannot answer what was installed that time. I remember that it was started from /etc/init.d not from command line as I tried now. I also remember that recently (after time I am sure openerp trunk was running) I installed on my machine django and it could cause installation of web.py (I am not sure). Conflict with django would be not nice.
It is quite hard to find instruction how to run OpenERP 6.1 when you fetch it from Launchpad (separately server, addons, openerp-web). Reviewing forums I found the way I used and described in this bug report. Now it means that it should work. When you closed this bug as invalid I tried to run 6.1 taken from debian package published in www.openerp.com. And it works on my machine now. (Ubuntu 10.04LTS). I will try to use your advices to run Launchpad installation and describe the results. It will take some time as I am busy now.
