Same problem on v6.1 For me it's a bug we have a dynamic behaviour with selection. This behaviour works with others actions (as print report) but not for export.
Export can be essential for some company. But when we have something like 30 000 records, we get a timeout (not surprising). What could be better is to have the option to export every records without having to select them.
