You have been subscribed to a public bug:
The name field is a concatenation of first_name and last_name. In a
res_partner record with more than one contact, any edit of the last_name
or first_name, or even the address fields removes all the contatenated
name field entries for all of the other contact records. This makes
name/address change updates a nightmare later because the list of
contact names is now blank with the exception of the most recently
updated contact for that res_partner record.
Editing of these records using the GTK client works properly. However
the web client fails as described above.
