Ok, not arguing anything, just sharing my own experiences: for the last
2 years, I've been working in just that mode - mostly kernel hacking. I
wished that there was a distro to support my device (h4000), but there
was none - it quickly became clear that Familiar is not going to
support it any time soon, and my own unofficial build was just that -
a random build every new kid on the block does after a month of
acquaintance with the stuff. Well, at least OE and Angstrom was
inviting, and I did HH.org devices maintenance in OE even though it
wasn't clear when Angstrom will be released, if ever ;-).

Well, now all doubts off, Angstrom release was made, it is maintained,
and next release if worked upon. And the most popular PocketPC devices
supported in it much better than ever where with Familiar. Bottom line:
keeping an eye on integration stuff besides pure hacking work pays off
by letting you see it magically working well enough as really usable and
manageable device - slightly earlier than you lost interest in it and
bought new toy just to repeat that "never finished/works well enough"
vicious cycle again ;-).

But as I write in other mail, I fully understand desire and need to
focus on one area per person per timespan - having a community and
interacting with other communities is the only way to overcome such
"limitations".
