Hello:

I have just set up open filer 2 on an old x86 box for use as a RAID-ed home server. I don't have an LDAP/Windows directory service so I am trying to make a share visible on my home network by granting public/guest access.

I have yum-updated the install, set up the volume and share, granted public access to the share, and enabled SMB/CIFS, but I still can't see the shared drive in my network neighborhood, nor can I explicilty map the network drive from windows explorer. I can access the openfiler administration GUI from my windows machine, and I can ssh/ping the open filer box, but the share is not visible to the windows box.

Is there a HOWTO out there for setting up open filer without using a directory server for user information? Or has anyone had any luck getting open filer to work in this kind of setting?

Many thanks for any help,
Mason
