Hi Bjoern,

The documentation for 2.0 is forthcoming although there is currently a debate ongoing as to how it should be made available.

If you are connecting from Winblows, take a look at this:

http://www.netadmintools.com/art372.html

For good 'ol Linux, this mini howto written by Mukund should help:

---------

Openfiler server (target) side:

    1. First "yum update" the Openfiler box to bring it to current
       code.
    2. Go to the services section and start the iSCSI target service.
    3. Create a volume with the type "iSCSI". Make sure you don't have
capital letters in the volume name or the volume group name if
you wish to use this device in MS iSCSI initiator as it does not
       allow capitals.
    4. Go into the "General" section and create a network for your
client machine. Set "255.255.255.255" as the "netmask" for the
client node with the "network" being the IP address of the
       client node.
    5. In the volumes section, edit the volume (of type iSCSI).
    6. Scroll down in the page and pick the network you just created
and select "Allow". Submit the form.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Linux client (initiator) side:

Here are the instructions on how to connect to an Openfiler iSCSI target
using a Linux software initiator client.

    1. Install iscsi-initiator-utils package (Cisco iSCSI initiator
software for Linux) on the client machine.
    2. On the client machine, edit /etc/iscsi.conf and add
       "DiscoveryAddress=<ip-of-openfiler-machine>".
    3. Restart the "iscsi" service on the client machine so it loads
the /etc/iscsi.conf file and imports the targets. This will
bring in all available targets as local SCSI disks. You can
       verify this in /proc/scsi/scsi
    4. There are plenty of options to add in /etc/iscsi.conf including
specifying target names explicitly, and timeout settings,
       authentication settings, etc.

---------

Good luck

Rafiu.

Hi,

you are my hero - thx ;-)

But now I don't know how to connect ot this ISCSI Vol. And I have only the OpenFiler 1.1 Doc where ISCSI Target is not documented.
